Skintifique took part this weekend in a round table organized by consoGlobe at the Live Natural show which took place from October 23 to 26 in Paris. The theme of the round table was : “Organic cosmetics: substantive change or superficial makeup?”.
Skintifique hasn’t engaged into an organic certification of its products, but our approach to development of our product is well aligned with the key principles of the organic movement.
We believe that the growing interest for organic cosmetics is the sign of an underlying trend for customers. We strongly believe that there is a strong consumer desire for a new approach to using and purchasing safer and more environmentally friendly skincare products. This is made possible in part by the broad and easy access to information characteristic of the digital age, and by the ability for everyone to connect to communities with shared interests.
At Skintifique, we interpret this trend as an aspiration to use purer products, compatible with excellent skin health and with a better environment.
There are several ways to reach this goal. For example, it is possible to search for plant extracts with specific qualities. The difficulty of this approach is to make sure of the effect of these products, of their tolerance by the most sensitive skins. Indeed, a number of agents known for their beneficial effect on skin will also have a strong allergenic or irritant potential.
Another approach, which is the one favored by Skintifique, is on the contrary to integrate as few ingredients as possible, each with a maximum quality and traceability, with a well known efficiency and tolerance profile. This reduction in the number of ingredients integrates in a global strategy of fabrication and distribution, which minimizes the environmental footprints of the products.
Pure products are compatible with the most sensitive skins. It is however essential to bring to the skin the very best moisturizing. In order to do that, we must maximize the action of the sane and efficient ingredients that have been selected. This is done by creating new structures that will bring and reveal new properties for these ingredients. This can only be attained by using a very rigorous and innovating scientific approach to control the organization of the matter.
In conclusion, the debate with the other participants at the round table was very interesting and enriching. Indeed, the speakers each represented a different vision of the organic cosmetic movement, and the confrontation of the different points of views as well as the interactions with the public have highlighted all the possible strategies for those interested by this theme.
