What are the impact on our skin?

Our skin: the first barrier against heat loss

Our skin has to change the way it operates when it gets cold, creating a barrier against low temperatures. In particular, the sebaceous glands produce less sebum when temperature drops, with 2 main consequences: 

  • Our skin dries out 
  • Our body becomes more vulnerable to exterior aggressions, like pollution, allergies, or metals, sebum having an antibacterial action and acting as a “cement” between our skin-cells
