I NEVER HAD ECZEMA BEFORE I WAS PREGNANT!
Where does this eczema flare-up come from?
If its name is a little impressive, polymorphic rash of pregnancy, this type of eczema is completely benign: without risk for the mother or her baby, it is nevertheless restrictive and it is necessary to fight against the symptoms to survive the end of pregnancy More comfortable. How to recognize it? What products to use? We tell you more in this article!
POLYMORPH PREGNANCY ERUPTION: HOW TO RECOGNIZE IT?
It generally appears before the third trimester, around the 34th week.
ITCHING :
It all starts with itching which precedes the skin lesions by 1 to 2 weeks. This itching is usually intense and can disturb sleep.
THE ERUPTION:
The lesions traditionally start on the stomach before sometimes spreading to the back, neck, arms or legs. The rash is recognizable because slightly thick pink or red spots called papules appear. The papules, when joining together, can form larger plaques. Other types of skin lesions are possible: vesicles (small blisters without fluid) and pustules (small blisters filled with cloudy fluid).
WHAT PRODUCTS TO USE? :
DERMOCORTICOIDS:
Used in particular when the symptoms are severe, they present no risk for the mother and the future baby. However, they must be prescribed by a doctor. If the application is daily, the treatment generally cannot exceed 3 weeks. Finally, since corticosteroids weaken the skin, their application increases the risk of stretch marks. It is therefore necessary, as far as possible, to avoid using them on areas such as the stomach, thighs or buttocks.
MOISTURIZING AND SOOTHING CREAMS:
Creams and balms intended for atopic-prone skin are also an excellent way to limit itching by soothing the skin.
As always during this period of life, it is essential to be vigilant about the composition of the creams used. Indeed, the ingredients contained in the creams that we apply on a daily basis can have several harmful consequences on the health and proper development of your baby:
Possible endocrine disruptors hinder the functioning of the body at the hormonal level. However, hormone secretion is essential during pregnancy
By entering the body, certain products can expose your baby to potentially toxic substances.
