THERE ARE NO MINERAL OIL NOR RELATED INGREDIENTS IN SKINTIFIQUE PRODUCTS 

Mineral oil is an ingredient derived from petrochemicals.

Other common names of mineral oil include: cera microcristallina, ceresin, ozokerite, paraffinum liquidum, petrolatum, petrolatum jelly, polyisobutylene, silicone quaternium, synthetic wax and vaseline.

Mineral oil is mainly used in industry as a lubricant and in a refined form, in many cosmetics.

It is colorless, orderless, hydrophobic (i.e., it does not mix with water), and occlusive. The later means that, when used on the skin, mineral oil creates a thin, plastic-like film at the surface of the skin; among other issues, this film prevents the skin from "breathing" normally, which, in most cases, is not great for skin health.

The main reason for using mineral oil in cosmetics are:

• It creates an occlusive layer on the skin (like plastic) thereby limiting water evaporation and, in traditional lotions and creams, contributing to skin moisturising
• It is an emollient that softens the skin

Due to is highly chemical and un-natural nature, mineral oil is very poorly degradable in nature. 

There is no mineral oil in Skintifique products. Yet, some of our products, such as the Hydrating Gel HS, have truly extraordinary moisturising efficiency.

How is that possible? Innovation! Indeed, our product provides superior moisturising thanks to the exclusive technologies that they are based on, in particular ActivifiqueTM. This technology allows to have 3-4 higher concentrations of moisturizing agents than in traditional lotions, and also to deliver these ingredients over time instead of in a burst. The benefit: superior hydratation, without the need for a mineral oil occlusive layer on the skin!
